What is HTML? HTML means Hyper-Text Markup Language. To publish
information for global distribution, one needs a universally understood
language, a kind of publishing mother tongue that all computers may potentially
understand. The publishing language used by the World Wide Web is HTML (from

Who invented the web? The inventor of the world wide web,
Tim Berners-Lee, has been awarded a knighthood for his pioneering work. He was
born in London in 1955. He created web in late 1980s and early 1990s at Cern
and offered it free on the net. Time magazine named him one of the top 20
thinkers of the 20th Century.
